Description
The Nitecore i2 Intellicharger is a universal two-bay smart charger built to top off nearly any rechargeable cell you can drop into it. Each of its two microcomputer-controlled slots works independently, automatically detecting whether a battery is Li-ion, IMR, LiFePO4, Ni-MH, or Ni-Cd and applying the correct charging profile without any manual setup. That means you can charge a high-drain 18650 in one slot and a AA in the other at the same time.
This latest revision is meaningfully faster than the original i2. Nitecore’s Active Current Distribution (ACD) technology monitors each bay and reallocates current on the fly, pushing up to 1000mA into a single cell for quicker charge times or splitting the load at 500mA per slot when both bays are filled. The charger cycles automatically through constant-current, constant-voltage, and trickle-charge stages, then holds the cell at a safe float once it is full.
Safety is handled by a full suite of automatic protections against reverse polarity, short circuits, over-charging, and over-discharged cells, all housed in a fire-retardant, flame-resistant shell. Simple yellow and blue LED indicators keep you informed of power and charge status at a glance, and the wide input range lets you run it from a standard wall outlet or a 12V car adapter, making it an easy, reliable choice for keeping your vape and flashlight batteries ready to go.
